Beef Brisket

Because Onyx Lennox asked.

This one was cooked in a smoker for 15 hours…the only way to get that “crust” and the red smoke ring.

But a good brisket can be obtained quicker and easier in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.

I like ding a 4 to 5 pound brisket…ensures left overs!

Mix a “rub”

2 Tablespoons brown sugar

4 teaspoon “smoked” salt

1 Tablespoon black pepper

1 Tablespoon ground mustard

1 Tablespoon onion powder

i Tablespoon smoked paprika

Coat the meat generously with the rub

then sear the meat in skillet or Instant Pot

cook with 2 to 3 cups beef stock

2 Tablespoon “liquid smoke” (optional, depending on how much smoke flavor you want.

No, it won’t look like this, but it will be tender and flavorful!

Slow cooker will take about 8 hours on high – instant pot about 1 1/2 hours.
